We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to lead the delivery of the South East Aylesbury Link Road (SEALR), a high-profile infrastructure scheme forming part of a wider strategic transport network in Buckinghamshire.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead day-to-day site operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely delivery of all works.
2. Manage the import of materials for constructing the Embankment, including testing, compliance, and materials management.
3. Drive programme performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures to avoid delays.
4. Administer the NEC Option B contract, including Early Warnings, Compensation Events, and change control procedures.
5. Collaborate effectively with clients, designers, statutory authorities, and internal teams.
6. Ensure quality assurance, compliance with specifications, ITPs, and audit requirements.
7. Promote a strong safety culture through regular HSEQ inspections and RAMS reviews.
8. Oversee performance, plant coordination, and site logistics.
9. Provide accurate reporting, contribute to cost forecasting, and support commercial closeout processes.
10. Create clear, professional presentations to communicate project progress, materials management, lookahead plans, and sequencing to stakeholders.
This leadership role requires a hands-on Project Manager with a strong background in Earthworks and a proven track record in delivering highways, civils, or infrastructure projects under NEC contracts, with a minimum of 5 years' experience managing major schemes (£10m+).
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong technical knowledge of earthworks, materials, and road construction.
* Proficiency in NEC contract management, particularly Option B.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to prepare and deliver project updates effectively.
* Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders.
* Competence in project controls, reporting, and risk management.
* Certifications: SMSTS, CSCS (Black or White Card), and First Aid at Work.
