The Team
Our Data Management team empowers data-driven decision making and strategic initiatives across Deliveroo by establishing robust data governance, cataloguing, quality, usage, and storage practices. These ensure that data is available, accessible, and of high quality to support business growth.
We are looking for a Program Manager with experience in Data Management or related domains to define and lead cross-functional programs of work that uplevel the ways in which Deliveroo manages data. The Program Manager will be responsible for identifying and prioritising key focus areas within Data Management, documenting current processes, and collaborating across engineering and business teams to develop a long-term strategy for specific streams of work. The role also involves implementing interim process improvements and supporting a growing Data Management team to balance its evolving culture with increased specialisation and clear responsibilities.
You'll report to the Senior Manager, Technical Programme Management. This is a hybrid role requiring three days a week in our London office in Cannon Street.
What you’ll be doing
* Understanding and documenting current processes within specific streams of Data Management, collaborating with engineering and business teams to identify improvements and future state, and planning the way forward.
* Working with teams that consume data and the Learning and Development team to identify, create, and post necessary training materials.
* Staying updated on GenAI tools that manipulate or interpret data and creating lightweight validation processes for their responses.
* Setting achievable goals and milestones for your areas of work, managing dependencies and risks.
* Managing changes effectively and ensuring clear communication among stakeholders.
* Facilitating the smooth flow of information and plans through effective communication strategies at scale.
* Gathering and prioritising requirements based on impact and effort.
* Collaborating with engineering and product teams to build partnerships and implement functionality changes according to a roadmap.
* Identifying overlaps with other programs within the Data Management team.
* Using your knowledge of Data Management requirements to identify future focus areas.
Requirements
* Broad understanding of data: its origins, uses, challenges, and flow within a business.
* Experience breaking down large goals into manageable streams and bringing structure to ambiguous problems.
* 5+ years in data engineering or product/program management.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive change.
* Experience delivering programs on a global scale.
* Knowledge of user needs, requirements gathering, prioritisation, and scope definition.
* Ability to operate autonomously and lead large-scale efforts across multiple teams and disciplines.
Preferred, but not required
* Experience in Data Management or Data Governance.
* Knowledge of Cloud Data Management Capabilities (CDMC) framework.
* Understanding of GDPR and other Data Protection regulations.
* Experience working with GenAI tools in data applications.
* Experience with Business Intelligence or data visualisation platforms.
