We are currently recruiting a NPD Manager to be based at our Hull bakery on a full-time, permanent basis.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a motivated individual with a creative flair and passion for NPD and bakery. The candidate should be a team player with excellent communication skills, serving as the first point of contact for key customers and internal teams.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who demonstrates energy and enthusiasm for their work and can thrive under pressure. They should have at least 5 years' experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in bakery or with equivalent knowledge/experience. A food science qualification is preferred.
The role of an NPD Manager at BBF Limited
The role involves managing the process from concept development in the test bakery to full-scale factory production across all BBF sites, ensuring successful in-store product launches.
Responsibilities include sourcing raw materials, creating recipes, coordinating factory trials with operations, process, and technical teams, and developing commercially viable products for specific retailers.
The manager will deliver projects on time, maintaining communication and collaboration with all business areas and customers, and ensure adherence to the PLM process for product control and documentation.
They will manage projects from start to finish to a high standard, with line management responsibilities including at least one direct report.
The role also involves being the primary contact for customers, managing day-to-day communication with key strategic clients, and traveling to BBF sites or customer offices as needed. Hosting customer visits and product submissions at customer sites are essential duties.
