We are seeking a confident and adaptable Primary Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive primary school, covering classes across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the classroom in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring that learning continues smoothly and effectively. You will be expected to deliver pre-planned lessons, manage behaviour, and support pupils to stay engaged and make progress.
You will work across a range of year groups, giving you broad experience and the opportunity to develop strong classroom practice.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons across all primary year groups (EYFS–KS2)
* Maintain a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment
* Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
* Ensure pupils remain engaged, motivated and on task
* Support pupils with differing abilities, including SEN and EAL learners
* Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour
* Adapt your approach to suit different age groups and learning needs
* Contribute positively to the wider school community
This role is not just about supervision—you will play an important part in adding value to pupils’ learning journeys, supporting both their academic progress and confidence.

* Qualified teachers (QTS/PGCE) seeking a more flexible role or a step back from full-time teaching responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* A degree or a relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. CACHE, Teaching Assistant qualification)
* Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Confidence in managing a classroom environment
* A flexible, proactive and professional approach
Desirable:
* QTS or PGCE
* Experience across multiple primary year groups
* Knowledge of the National Curriculum
* Experience supporting SEN or EAL pupils
