Venn Group is delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Assistant on behalf of a leading not-for-profit organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected institution and provide vital support by ensuring accurate and timely financial transaction processing. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining robust financial controls and supporting the wider business with efficient and compliant processes.
Key responsibilities:
1. Process financial transactions including supplier setup, purchase invoices, payments, reconciliations, and income management.
2. Manage interfaces between finance systems and other business systems to ensure data accuracy.
3. Handle sales invoicing, credit control, cash counting, and expense claims.
4. Support month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting to internal stakeholders.
5. Provide guidance and support to business users on financial policies and systems.
6. Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency within the finance function.
Ideal candidate profile:
7. 2 years’ experience in financial transaction processing (accounts payable or receivable)
8. Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and VAT compliance
9. Proficient in Excel and experienced in financial reporting systems (ERP experience desirable)
10. Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage conflicting deadlines
11. Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams
12. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment
