Overview
Applications are invited for the role of Senior stem cell lab technician to join the vision research group within Clinical and Experimental Sciences (CES) at the University of Southampton.
Responsibilities
* Extensive work with human pluripotent stem cells, including reprogramming hiPSC derived from patient fibroblasts and retinal organoid cultures.
* Design and carry out experiments independently, contribute intellectually to projects, and manage multiple workstreams.
* Support projects related to stem cell work, including regular but minimal weekend maintenance and covering other staff duties.
* Collaborate with postdocs, PhD/undergraduate students, clinician scientists and technicians across faculties and institutions.
Qualifications
* Extensive laboratory expertise in cell biology and human tissue culture.
* Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 technologies.
* Track record of publishing in high‑quality, peer‑reviewed journals.
* Highly motivated, able to work independently and manage multiple workstreams.
Additional Information
The post is available for a period of 2 years in the first instance and is expected to cover minimal weekend maintenance.
