As a key member of our Bridges & Structures team, you’ll help drive our transition to a solutions-focused provider, transforming how we deliver through the adoption of new technologies, lean methodologies, and digital processes. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and decarbonisation, you’ll apply your advanced technical engineering, interpersonal, and organisational skills to support the delivery of structural solutions across highways, rail, aviation, energy, and power sectors.
Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor teams in structural analysis, feasibility studies, tender and detailed designs, and the preparation of contract documents and technical reports.
* Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated, high-quality services to clients.
* Champion innovative thinking and diverse perspectives to identify best-value solutions.
* Work closely with our UK and Global Integrated Delivery teams to optimise resources and ensure efficient, successful project outcomes.
Our Structural Solutions capability is part of Jacobs’ wider Transportation business, known for delivering technically complex schemes both in the UK and internationally. Our large and diverse team has earned a strong reputation through a portfolio of high-profile projects with clients including High Speed 2, National Highways, Network Rail, Welsh Government, National Contractors & Local Authorities.
Qualifications
* A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline
* A professional qualification
* Excellent communication, collaboration and time management skills
* Project management skills related to bridge design or other disciplines
* Strong technical design and practical problem-solving skills
Candidates may have a background in bridge design; we are equally interested to hear from candidates from other disciplines and industries.
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in asset management, structures renewals and post-tensioned structures, including post-tensioned special inspections (PTSI).
