As a Senior Internal Auditor at the British Heart Foundation, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact. Your work will help safeguard the integrity of one of the UK’s most trusted charities, ensuring we deliver on our mission to save lives. In this role, you’ll lead audits, coordinate external providers, and shape the annual audit plan, all while maintaining a strong risk-based approach.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders to embed a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement, while providing independent assurance to our Executive Directors and Trustees. Your expertise will strengthen our three lines of defence model and help us stay ahead in a fast-changing environment.
About you
To succeed in this role you will:
* have a professional qualification in Internal Audit or Accounting (such as CIA, MIIA, AAT, ACCA, or CIMA)
* understand management processes across Finance, IT, HR, Retail, and CRM systems
* have strong knowledge of risk-based auditing techniques, testing, and sampling.
* have a good grasp of risk management principles
* experience in risk-based internal audits, ideally in a charity setting,
* be confident in investigations, evidence gathering, and writing clear reports for senior management.
* be competent in IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)

Working arrangements
This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office.
Interview process
There will be a two-stage interview process:
1st stage w/c 5th January 26 will be held virtually over MS Teams
2nd stage w/c 12th January 26 will be held at our London office
