GSL Education is seeking an experienced and dynamic Curriculum Lead to oversee the delivery, development, and strategic direction of a new SEN School supporting students 14-19 years who have a range of Specialist and Social, Emotional, Mental Health Needs. About the School
This new Alternative Provision SEN School, opening in January, will support up to 60 students with SEMH needs and those who benefit from a more hands-on, personalised approach to learning. The environment is nurturing, relationship-focused, and designed to remove barriers to engagement through practical vocational pathways, consistent pastoral support, and a calm, structured setting. The provision aims to help young people build confidence, develop essential life and employability skills, and successfully progress into further education, training, or employment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, coordination, and quality assurance of the schools curriculam.
* Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across all vocational pathways.
* Support and mentor staff to deliver engaging, relevant, and purposeful learning experiences.
* Ensure provision meets the needs of diverse learners, including those with SEMH or other barriers to learning.
* Work closely with senior leaders, external partners, and stakeholders to enhance programme opportunities and progression routes.
* Monitor data, track student progress, and implement targeted interventions to secure strong outcomes.
* Champion a culture of aspiration, employability, and personal development.
About You
* Proven experience in curriculum leadership or coordination, ideally within vocational or alternative provision settings.
* Strong understanding of vocational qualifications, pathways, and employer expectations.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and people-management skills.
* A proactive leader with the ability to motivate teams and drive continuous improvement.
