We are delighted to invite applications from qualified lawyers (both Solicitors and Chartered Legal Executives) at all levels and Experienced Paralegals who wish to join our national Catastrophic and Complex Injury Team. Our industry‑leading team, led by Liz Jones, comprises 30 partners and 81 lawyers across the United Kingdom. This role offers an excellent opportunity for junior lawyers to develop their skill set and careers alongside experts, and for senior lawyers to expand their existing portfolio in a collaborative environment.
Our clients include leading names in the insurance industry as well as household‑name corporates. We provide effective claims solutions for cases of the utmost severity and complexity, including traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, amputation or high‑value fatal accident claims. Whether the engagement requires pre‑emptive advice/investigations or litigation, we aim to provide a clear strategy from the outset.
What you will do
* Effectively manage your own case load of complex injury files, ensuring deadlines are met and cases are run proactively to conclusion.
* Devise a clear case strategy that is adhered to, balancing the commercial interests of the firm and the client.
* Assist senior fee earners on complex and higher‑value cases, and partners on multi‑million‑pound claims.
* Deliver work that meets client needs, commercial requirements and quality standards, including:
* Adherence to internal and client SLAs, KPIs and protocols.
* Achievement of agreed financial targets.
* Prompt billing and collection of WIP and disbursements.
* Accurate provision of management information.
* Application of current technical expertise and case law.
* Effective risk and compliance management, escalating emerging issues promptly.
* Client engagement to maximise opportunities and build rapport, acting as an ambassador for the firm.
* Contribution to business development and client relationship activity, supporting the Client Relationship Partner when required.
* Ongoing technical knowledge development through training and relevant publications.
Who you are
* Previous experience in Personal Injury, EL/PL or Catastrophic and Complex Injury claims, or a keen interest in this area.
* High level of personal compliance with firm protocols and procedures.
* Sound legal knowledge relevant to the area of expertise.
* A commercial perspective to legal issues.
* Confident negotiation skills.
* A team‑oriented and collegial attitude, willing to share knowledge and support others.
* Excellent relationship and client handling skills; able to manage day‑to‑day client interactions professionally.
