South Midlands ?? £40,000 £55,000 + PackageWe are working on behalf of a well-established and growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor to recruit an experienced Buyer to join their team in the South Midlands.Our client is a respected, family-run business delivering a wide range of infrastructure, earthworks, and housing development packages for leading developers and commercial clients across the UK, covering services such as roads, sewers, and groundworks.
()The RoleAs Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial and operational teams, ensuring the efficient procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract services across multiple projects.Key responsibilities include:Procuring materials, plant, and specialist subcontract packagesManaging the procurement of aggregates and haulage servicesNegotiating with suppliers to secure best value and build long-term relationshipsSupporting site teams with timely and cost-effective supply solutionsMonitoring market trends and identifying cost-saving opportunitiesManaging supplier performance and maintaining a robust supply chainAbout YouWe are looking for a commercially aware and proactive individual with a strong understanding of supply chain management within construction.You will ideally have:Experience as a Buyer within civils, groundworks, or constructionBackground in aggregates, haulage, or builders merchants (highly desirable)Strong knowledge of plant hire and/or specialist subcontract procurementExcellent negotiation and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentA hands-on, solutions-driven approachLocationThis role is based in the South Midlands, supporting projects across the wider Midlands region.Whats on OfferSalary of £40,000 £55,000 (depending on experience)Opportunity to join a growing and well-respected contractorStrong pipeline of secured workSupportive and collaborative team environmentGenuine long-term career progressionThis is an excellent opportunity for a Buyer looking to develop their career within a dynamic civils and groundworks business, with exposure to a varied and fast-moving project portfolio.All applications will be handled in strict confidence.TPBN1_UKTJ
