Are you ready to make a real impact on safety across the rail industry? We're looking for a seasoned Health & Safety professional to lead and influence safety improvements across our region.
In this role, you'll bring a broad and deep understanding of HSE, gained from years of experience across multiple industries—including regulatory roles in the rail sector. You'll hold a postgraduate diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and have the competence and credibility to engage with senior leaders, board members, and frontline teams alike.

What You'll Be Doing
* Daily Safety Oversight
: Start each day reviewing incident logs—checking for missed events, assessing injuries, and ensuring follow-up actions are taken to learn and improve.
* Team Collaboration
: Support your team and connect regularly with safety colleagues across Wales, Western, Capital Delivery, Construction Services, Technical Authority, System Operator, and other regions—as well as our suppliers.
* Governance & Reporting
: Attend and contribute to regional and business-wide governance meetings, helping shape decisions and prepare impactful H&S reports.
* Site Engagement
: Visit sites to assess how safety systems are working in practice and gather feedback directly from colleagues.
* Stakeholder Management
: Lead sensitive conversations with staff, passengers, and stakeholders—especially in the aftermath of incidents—ensuring transparency and compassion.
* Union Partnership
: Work closely with trade unions to foster understanding and collaboration across our diverse workforce.
