Responsibilities
MEMO Clinical Engineering (Medical Equipment Management Organisation) are based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and are part of the UHBW NHS Trust. MEMO manages a wide range of medical equipment across UHBW hospitals. We have two apprenticeship positions available:
1. Mechanical Engineering - within the Mechanical Services Team, specialising in maintaining, installing, and managing Medical Gas Pipeline Systems.
2. Radiation Engineering - within the Radiology and Radiotherapy Teams, focusing on maintenance, testing, calibration, and quality control of complex medical devices such as X-ray, CT, MRI, and Linacs.
This is a great opportunity whether you are already on this career path or have a practical hobby in problem-solving. You must demonstrate high manual dexterity and a flexible approach to working in clinical and workshop environments. Experience or interest in fault-finding on mechanical/electrical equipment is desirable.
The apprenticeship lasts 4 years, after which you will move to a band 4 position.
Band 3 Apprentice Mechanical Engineer - a 4-year training program with full training from in-house and external providers, including academic training and level 3 qualifications from Weston College.
