We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
Bringing together two big organisations is not a small task and it’ll take a while to fully integrate our systems, processes and approaches. That’s why you will notice the jobs here are still branded ‘Humankind’. Next year we’ll be fully integrating our recruitment systems but for now they are separate.

About the role:

Join us as anEquality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Volunteerand help shape a culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. We are looking for someone who can offer their time in a variety of ways – interacting directly with people both face to face and online, as well being able to support with research and content creation.
What you’ll do:
As an EDI Volunteer, you’ll support our mission to embed inclusive practices across our organisation. You might:
* Cofacilitate groups that promote inclusivity and value diversity, such as a neurodiversity group or a young people’s group
* Promote and encourage EDI conversations with service users, volunteers and staff
* Liaise with service users and staff to gain feedback about EDI which helps inform decisions and support
* Research local resources and help to build relationships in the community
* Create and develop resources for use in campaigns and events
* Support the planning and delivery of events that celebrate diversity and raise awareness
* Champion inclusive language and practices in communications
While there is some flexibility about where this role is based, the ideal location would be our Gillingham hub. It is envisaged that the role will support events across Dorset, with a particular focus in East and North Dorset, therefore the ability to travel is important.
About the project:
Reach Drug and Alcohol Services is the commissioned community drug and alcohol provision for Dorset. It provides a range of support, interventions and treatments for adults and young people wanting to make positive changes to their drug and/or alcohol use, as well as offering support to family members and running campaigns and events that raise awareness of addiction and celebrate recovery in the community.
Reach is delivered in partnership between Waythrough, Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership and Essential Drug and Alcohol Services. This role is based with the adults service.
