We're hiring a Senior HR Advisor to join a fast-paced, nationwide organisation on a 12-month maternity cover. This is a hands-on role leading on employee relations and HR operations in a lean team. Client Details Our client is a well-established, family-run organisation operating nationally with a strong presence across retail and distribution environments. With a workforce of over 2,000 employees and a network of sites across the UK, they pride themselves on long employee tenure, community focus, and a people-first culture. Description Manage a shared HR and Payroll inbox, triaging and resolving high-volume queries Lead on employee relations cases including grievances and disciplinaries Support regional managers across multiple sites nationwide Provide practical HR advice in a fast-paced retail/operational setting Own HR processes end-to-end with minimal supervision Support skilled worker visa and right-to-work compliance Assist with payroll queries and liaise with offshore teams Deliver HR inductions and support onboarding processes Identify and address recurring people issues (e.g. communication gaps) Contribute to HR projects and organisational change initiativesProfile A successful Senior HR Advisor should have: Proven experience in a hands-on HR Advisor or Senior HR role Strong employee relations experience (grievances, investigations, hearings) Confident working independently in a lean HR structure and taking ownership Experience supporting operational, retail, or warehouse environments Working multi-site Comfortable managing high volumes of queries and competing priorities Strong communicator, able to engage diverse and multilingual teams Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice Experience with visa sponsorship or compliance (desirable) Basic payroll knowledge or exposure CIPD qualification or equivalent experience preferredJob Offer 12-month FTC with potential to go permanent Hybrid working (3 days on-site in Croydon) On-site parking 20 days annual leave (pro rata) Statutory pension Employee discount scheme This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to make a meaningful impact in the retail industry.
