GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a reputable engineering company based in the Tewkesbury area, specialising in aerospace and defence. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Key Account Manager – Business Development to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This position is working Monday – Thursday 07:30am – 16:00pm with a Friday finish of 13:00pm, offering a salary up to £65K, dependant on experience.
Our client is a leader in precision manufacturing, supplying to compliance-led industries. With ongoing growth across strategic markets, they are seeking a motivated and commercially driven individual to take ownership of developing long-term business streams and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Account Manager Main Responsibilities:
* Develop profitable business opportunities in line with long-term strategic goals.
* Build strong customer relationships and act as the key contact for strategic accounts.
* Work cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure world-class service delivery.
* Review incoming opportunities and align quotations with business objectives.
* Generate and report business KPI performance, including OTIF (On Time In Full).
* Support the customer service team by monitoring and improving satisfaction levels.
* Establish internal capacity fill opportunities and support bid/no-bid decisions.
* Actively engage in customer visits and provide multi-level client liaison.
* Ensure smooth handover of new contracts to operations, ensuring all technical and quality requirements are implemented.
* Monitor pipeline, develop customer strategies, and drive account performance.
* CRM management and senior reporting on activity, quotation, and conversion metrics.
* Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, purchasing, quality) to meet customer needs.
Quality Engineer required skills and experience:
* Proven track record in a senior commercial role managing compliance-driven work packages.
* Extensive experience in CNC machining, quoting, and contract negotiations.
* Strong commercial acumen and integrity with the ability to lead by example.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
* Demonstrable success in winning new business in regulated industries.
* Deep knowledge of CNC manufacturing processes and precision component production (3mm to 3m).
* Understanding of industry materials, treatments, and quality standards.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
* HNC/HND or higher in Production Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Project Management or similar.
* Apprentice-trained in a CNC manufacturing environment.
