Applications are invited for a substantive Thoracic Consultant Surgeon. This is an exciting opportunity to join the West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre, based at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital (GJUNH). The GJUNH is a high volume thoracic centre delivering thoracic surgical services to 2.6 million people in the west of Scotland.
The full range of outpatient and inpatient facilities are provided on site with a network of multidisciplinary meetings supporting regional and local care. The hospital additionally is the national base for the three National Services - Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service, Scottish Advanced Heart Failure and Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Units with a ward dedicated to the care of the patients.
The unit is a high volume robotic centre and performs all aspects of Thoracic surgery including pectus surgery, lung volume reduction techniques, trauma and complex oncological surgery.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the register within 6 months of the interview date.
