Location: Selby, North Yorkshire YO8
Commutable from Leeds, Doncaster, York, Goole, East Riding, Beverley or Pocklington
Hours: 40-hour week, Monday to Friday 08:00–16:30, plus rota-based on-call system
On-call rota: additional on-call pay (£200/week indemnity); Saturday morning 2 hours paid ×1.5; Sunday morning 2 hours paid ×2
What you will be doing
* Run the day-to-day operations of Boilers, Gas Turbines (CHP plants) and Reverse Osmosis skids
* Monitor boiler and water treatment plant and adjust settings as required
* Monitor burning conditions of process gas and adjust fuel combinations to meet steam requirements and process gas availability; liaise with Production regarding steam availability and site electricity
* Coordinate with Engineering and Production on breakdowns and routine maintenance
* Carry out planned, predictive and reactive electrical maintenance of the plant to support efficient production
* Fault finding, testing, calibration, installation and commissioning of process instrumentation
* Isolate electrical plant to comply with permit to work procedures
* Fault diagnosis and rectification solutions
* Electrical installation and commissioning of new and repaired machinery and equipment
* Work safely in accordance with site procedures and trade practices; HV switching and operations (training provided)
What Skills And Experience Do You Need
* Recognised electrical/C and I engineering apprenticeship, ideally in a heavy process industry
* HNC in electrical/automation discipline desirable or demonstrated experience in a similar role
* Competency in isolation, electrical safety and safe panel entry
* Good understanding of electrical installation/schematics and requirements
* Electrical and instrumentation fault finding and repairs
* Experience in instrumentation maintenance
* HV switching and operations experience or willingness to learn (training provided)
* Experience operating CHP plants or willingness to learn (training provided)
* Ability to work unsupervised and organise others as needed
* Hands-on approach and ability to see a job through to completion
* Ability to prioritise own workload; flexible and adaptable
