Your new company
Your new job role will be working for a public sector organisation based in Liverpool, dedicated to research and teaching in tropical medicine.
Your new role
* Ensuring the facility is well maintained and high standards of service are delivered by the in-house maintenance team and external contractors.
* Organising reactive maintenance and repairs of HVAC, autoclaves, and specialist systems.
* Maintaining and repairing en-suite bathrooms, sinks, and plumbed facilities.
* Carrying out planned preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing of all facilities, plant, equipment, and systems within HCF.
* Coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and staff, managing quotations, and obtaining approvals from the Estates Manager/HCF Head of Operations.
* Assisting with administrative tasks, updating spreadsheets, managing space information on the CAFM system, and analyzing helpdesk requests.
Security and Fire Marshall
* Managing the operation and maintenance of the controlled door access system and maintaining the proximity card database.
* Providing security contractor and fire marshall training and oversight.
* Supporting the Fire Officer with fire risk assessments, audits, training, and servicing.
* Participating in emergency response teams and out-of-hours callouts.
* Managing security protocols and systems, including intruder alarms, CCTV, and door access systems, with knowledge of BMS, AutoCAD, and CAFM systems.
Cleaning, Decontamination, and Infection Control
* Monitoring cleaning quality through audits and liaising with the housekeeping team.
* Organising specialist cleaning services and ensuring high standards in participant suites.
* Handling the safe use of decontamination equipment like hydrogen peroxide vapour generators.
Inspection and Audit
* Supporting estate condition audits and inspections, identifying issues, and recommending mitigation measures.
* Performing quality checks on work by the in-house team and contractors, and generating reports.
General Responsibilities
* Promoting equality and inclusive practices.
* Performing other duties as appropriate, including acting as an 'On Call' Engineer, supervising staff, and supporting team collaboration.
* Participating in personal development and training to maintain effective service delivery.
Requirements
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* NEBOSH Certificate - General or Fire.
* Fire Warden training.
* Valid First Aid Certificate.
* Customer care training.
* SIA Licence - CCTV.
* Fire risk assessor qualification.
* Mechanical HNC qualification.
