Salary: CSET 9. £28,598 FTE, £21,606 prorated

Hours: 32.5 hours per week

Contract type: Fixed term until 31/08/2027

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated individual to work as part of a team promoting the emotional, physical and educational development of pupils, including those with special needs. Reporting to the SENDco, you will play a key role in planning and delivering targeted interventions to identified students who require additional support.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Leading small group work and 1:1 intervention sessions, specifically supporting literacy and numeracy skills.
2. Monitoring student responses to learning activities and helping them achieve learning targets.
3. Liaising with classroom teachers to plan effective support and maintain accurate special needs records.
4. Assisting with the implementation of behavior management programs and ensuring student safety.

About you

You are an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive person committed to securing high standards for all young people. You possess endless supplies of compassion and patience, alongside the confidence to work with primary aged students.

The ideal candidate will have:

5. A good standard of education (including English and Maths) and experience working with young people with SEND.
6. An understanding of what constitutes an effective intervention and how to use data to inform impact.
7. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with parents, outside agencies and students.
8. Desirable: Extra training in evidence-based interventions related to literacy, numeracy, or speech and language.

About us

Lyde Green Primary is an oversubscribed and unique school, based at Lyde Green near Bristol. Since being built and opened around 10 years ago, the school has grown and changed rapidly, and now is about to enter the next stage of its journey by opening a second site, less than 1km from the existing site. Over time, the school will grow to a capacity of over 800 pupils, split across two outstanding two-form-entry facilities. In addition to the provision of 840 mainstream school places, we also have an equally unique 16 place Access Centre for pupils aged 4-7, with a primary diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
