Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and reliable Nursery Teaching Assistant to support early years learning within a friendly and supportive primary school in Slough. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work with children aged 3-5, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting and will be enthusiastic about supporting their social, emotional, and educational development.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Nursery Teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Assist with planning and setting up engaging and age-appropriate activities.
Provide care and supervision for children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Support children’s learning through play and structured activities.
Help with personal care routines such as toileting and feeding where necessary.
Observe and record children’s progress and development.
Promote positive behaviour and help manage the classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and other professionals to support children’s needs.
Requirements:
Experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
Knowledge of the EYFS framework.
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
Patience, kindness, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
DBS clearance (or willingness to apply through the agency).
First Aid qualification for early years.
Experience working with children with additional needs.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child development.
