The Vacancy: Training Officer
Location: Lombard House with travel across Northern Ireland
Type: Permanent, Full-time - 37 hours per week
Department: Mental Health and Addiction Services
We are Inspire. We work with people living with mental ill health, intellectual disability, autism, and addictions to ensure they live with dignity and realize their full potential. We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and confident Training Officer to join our PEACEPLUS-funded Right Support Right Time (RSRT) project.
About the Role This is a community-based, people-focused role perfect for someone who thrives on engagement and creativity. Responsibilities include designing and delivering mental health and wellbeing awareness sessions across Northern Ireland, working face-to-face with diverse participants, and supporting partner organizations to build their capacity. You will create a welcoming, trauma-informed learning environment that supports recovery, resilience, and connectedness. Developing tailored training materials, delivering impactful group sessions, analyzing feedback, and shaping best practices for community mental health education are key components of this role.
What You'll Bring Experience designing and facilitating group training, workshops, or awareness sessions (preferably mental health or community-based)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Confidence to adapt delivery styles for various audiences
A collaborative, inclusive, and innovative approach
A full driving license and flexibility to travel
About the Right Support Right Time Project This cross-border initiative, delivered by Inspire in partnership with Mencap, Cedar, Apex, Respond, DePaul, and the Red Cross, aims to promote positive mental health, prevent emotional distress escalation, deliver trauma-informed community mental health models, and engage underserved groups, including those in areas of deprivation, with disabilities, and refugees or migrants. Supported by the PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by SEUPB.
