Job Description:
We are currently seeking an interim Assistant Project Procurement Manager, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.
The position is based in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role for 18 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is competitive, up to £45,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to business needs.

Job Scope:
This role will be responsible for achieving Unilever's Capex strategy at Port Sunlight Factory. It supports the Procurement Manager in delivering targets related to Cost, Cash, Quality, Service, Innovation, and Sustainable Living. The role is a key business partner with the Engineering team, managing the site procurement strategy.
The Assistant Sourcing Manager will:
* Increase efficiency of Capex & MRO procurement by driving scale, reducing fragmentation, pooling expertise, and leveraging technology and data.
* Support development and execution of supplier/site strategies for CAPEX/MRO.
* Manage purchase requests and approvals.
* Assess supply markets and supplier capabilities.
* Identify cost savings through benchmarking, RFQs, e-tenders, and support savings programs.
* Lead supplier negotiations.
* Provide market intelligence for strategic decisions.
* Coordinate with engineering teams and suppliers on technology and capability roadmaps.
* Onboard new suppliers, ensuring quality and compliance.
* Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance.
* Collaborate with global teams to align strategies.
* Manage relationships with supply chain and business partners.
Key Competencies & Skills:
* Understanding of procurement insights, analysis, and supplier selection.
* Developing and executing procurement strategies.
* Managing supplier performance and contractual engagement.
* Partnering with suppliers and stakeholders to create value.
* Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
Role Requirements:
* Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
* At least 3 years' experience in Procurement, Engineering, or Finance.
* Experience with change management projects.
* Experience in CAPEX/MRO or FMCG sectors.
* Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
* Excellent communication skills, comfortable working in virtual teams.
* Able to challenge stakeholders and drive change.
