The post holder will have a key role to play as part of the BNENC strategic leadership team. There are key tasks pertinent to the role:
The first is to help develop the corporate funding and income strategy. This includes identifying funding and business opportunities in both the charitable and non-charitable sectors and capitalise upon them.
The post holder will be responsible for meeting financial targets set out in the corporate business plan established by the board and Director of Operations and maintain and expand current levels of income and developing new areas of profitable charitable activity.
The post holder will also be responsible for developing new neighbourhood level initiatives and obtaining funding on behalf of third parties and our partners. There will be a requirement to monitor and evaluate all bids and prepare written reports
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Funding and Development
· To be a dynamic and visible leader as part of the BNENC strategic leadership team
· To develop and deliver the corporate funding and income strategy including community development and funding for third parties
· To identify funding and business opportunities and bring them to the attention of the Board of Trustees
· To market all non-charitable business activities with a view to increasing self- generated income, in line with targets, via utilisation of the media, in conjunction with the Board of Trustees, Director of Operations and any other legitimate means.
· To meet financial targets laid down by the Chair of the Board of Trustees and the Trustee Board
· To be responsible for establishing new innovative services and income streams.
· To ensure that BNENC complies with all relevant legislation when bidding for grant or contract funding.
· To keep fully informed of current and future legislation affecting charitable funding and non-charitable income and to implement changes accordingly.
· To identify innovations in service provision, charity and business approach.
· In conjunction with the Director of Operations, produce annual budgets and ensure that performance against budget is monitored.
· To market all charitable trading activities with a view to increasing and maximising self-generated income.
· To complete high scoring PQQs and tender documents and arrange submission to appropriate commissioners.
· To produce bids for funding to Liverpool City Council, Clinical Commissioning Groups and other commissioning bodies.
· To continue the strong relationship BNENC has with its current funders and develop relationships with new potential funders.
· To develop suitable projects, in collaboration with the Board of Trustees and Director of Operations and prepare fundraising applications as appropriate.
· To provide support to other staff with funding bids, information returns and data requirements.
· To monitor, evaluate and produce appropriate written reports on all aspects relating to funding, funding applications, inputs and outcomes
Marketing and Communication
* In conjunction with the Director of Operations, develop the corporate 'Marketing and Communications' strategy
* Ensure communications activities set out in the Marketing & Communications, Strategy are delivered effectively and the communications function runs smoothly.
* Seek out stories and case studies which illustrate BNENC's key messages and disseminate them via appropriate communication channels to funders, partners' beneficiaries' major influencers and opinion formers and the communities of Liverpool.
* Work with the Board of Trustees and Director of Operations to develop and implement a content strategy for all marketing communications, voice, print and digital, maximising the use of resources by adapting content as appropriate for different audience groups.
Other Significant Duties
· To participate and play an active role in Board of Trustee and strategic leadership meetings.
· To provide presentations to a wide range of audiences, promoting BNENC, its funders and partners, adapting style and presentation as appropriate.
· To analyse information and adapt the contents for reporting to different recipients.
· To present appropriate reports to the Chair of the Board of Trustees, Sub Committees and Board of Trustees as required.
· To participate in BNENC promotional fundraising, social events and other activities as required.
· To deputise for the Director of Operations in their absence
