Our client in Newcastle is looking for a IT Engineer to join the team on a two year fixed term contract. As the IT engineer you will be responsible for managing IT operations across the West Europe region, supporting local business functions, coordinating with central IT teams, and managing external vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and high-quality IT service delivery in line with corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as the primary technical contact for regional business users on IT-related matters
2. Deliver IT operations including user support, infrastructure, security, network management, procurement, and asset tracking
3. Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to define system requirements and specifications
4. Manage second-level support operations across the region
5. Ensure uninterrupted IT service across all construction sites in the UK and Ireland
Core Competencies and Experience
6. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
7. 2–3 years of experience in IT roles with increasing responsibility
8. Minimum 3 years in system administration and IT support
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills
10. Proven experience in IT service management and SLA monitoring
11. Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting abilities
12. Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning
13. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or MCSE are advantageous
14. Willingness to travel within the assigned region

Technical Qualifications
22. Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Office 365 administration
23. Proficiency in managing users, groups, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP
24. Strong understanding of information security principles including access control, encryption, and patch management
25. Solid grasp of networking protocols and infrastructure: TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls, switches, wireless equipment
26. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Online: document libraries, lists, permissions, and external access
27. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services: Intune, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online
28. Ability to train and support users on systems and processes
29. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
