A highly respected high-end residential main contractor is seeking an experienced Maintenance / Aftercare Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team.
With over 20 years’ experience delivering super-prime residential refurbishment projects, the business has built a strong reputation for exceptional quality, attention to detail, and long-term client relationships across some of London’s most prestigious homes.
The Role
You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical building services within completed super-prime residential properties and live project environments across prime central London.
This role is ideal for a skilled Mechanical Engineer, Gas Engineer, or Plumber with strong fault-finding ability and experience working within high-end residential or commercial building services environments.
You will play a key role in maintaining the performance and reliability of mechanical systems while delivering a professional service within occupied luxury homes.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across mechanical systems
* Diagnose and resolve faults across heating, plumbing, and mechanical installations
* Maintain boilers, pumps, HVAC systems, pipework, and associated plant
* Support remedial works, minor installations, and mechanical upgrades
* Provide aftercare support across completed residential projects
* Maintain accurate service records and reporting
* Liaise professionally with residents, property managers, and internal teams
* Coordinate specialist subcontractors where required
* Ensure all works comply with health and safety standards
* Deliver high-quality workmanship within occupied luxury properties
Requirements
Essential:
* Proven experience working as a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer, Gas Engineer, or Plumber
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Experience servicing heating and mechanical systems
* Full UK driving licence
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills
* Comfortable working within high-end residential environments
Highly Desirable:
* Domestic or Commercial Gas Safe registration
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or Building Services
* Previous experience working within high-end residential projects
* Experience working for a main contractor
Additional Desirable Experience:
* Underfloor heating systems
* Plant rooms
* Boosted water systems
* MVHR systems
* BMS systems
* Commissioning processes
