Senior Finance Business Partner
NFU Mutual is seeking a commercially minded Senior Finance Business Partner to lead strategic cost optimisation and shape our long-term financial future. This pivotal role within our FP&A team involves working closely with senior leadership to influence performance, planning, and strategic decisions. You will be responsible for delivering our cost optimisation programme, managing Activity Based Costing (ABC) allocations, and developing ten-year performance models to embed cost efficiency across the organisation.
Your focus will be on enhancing cost visibility, accuracy, and accountability, ensuring cost insights inform planning and forecasting. You will design and implement cost allocation methodologies across various planning cycles, providing high-quality analysis and strategic recommendations. Collaborating with senior stakeholders, you will align cost structures with strategic goals and oversee continuous improvements in modelling accuracy and cost driver relevance.
Key duties include:
* Lead strategic cost optimisation and long-term financial planning
* Own cost allocation and segmentation methodologies across planning cycles
* Deliver data-driven insights and compelling storytelling
* Drive continuous improvement in cost modelling and reporting
* Collaborate across teams to embed financial performance into decision-making processes
About you
You possess a diverse skill set, including exceptional stakeholder management, influencing decision-making through data-driven insights, and prioritisation skills to manage competing demands. Attention to detail and adaptability are crucial within the evolving insurance and financial services landscape.
Technical skills required:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in finance business partnering
* Proven success in FP&A, financial analysis, and stakeholder management
* Strong analytical skills, with expertise in modelling, evaluation, and forecasting
* Strategic and critical thinking abilities to translate complex data into actionable insights
