A fantastic opportunity to join a high performing GP surgery, looking to welcome a new practice nurse to the team.
You will work closely with our well established clinical team to help provide clinical care and manage acute demand, seeing patients with a variety of conditions.

The practice nurse is an integral part of the practice clinical team, working alongside a friendly, hardworking team of general practitioners, nursing colleagues, admin and reception staff in the care of practice patients.

Main duties of the job
We are seekinga compassionate and dedicated Practice Nurse to join our clinical team; someonewith excellent communication skills, a strong sense of empathy, and the abilityto work effectively in a fast paced environment.
Main Duties of the Role:
7. Provide nursing services to patients, includingtreatment, screening, advice and minor therapeutic procedures.
8. Run special clinics for patients including family planning,child health surveillance, vaccinations, cervical cytology, warfarin monitoringand chronic disease management, assist with minor surgery and coil/implanonsclinics.
9. To undertake diagnostic tests including bloodglucose monitoring, PEFR and urine analysis.
10. To advise on and supervise patients use of devicesincluding MDIs, PEFR meters, urinary diagnostic stix, blood glucose monitoringand nebulisers.
11. To take and despatch safely laboratory specimensincluding blood, urine, swabs and smears.
12. To provide ear syringing, treatment for cuts andbruises, dressings of wounds and leg ulcers and removal of sutures.
13. To provide immunisations for all ages and diseasesand to know the contra-indications and side effects of vaccinations.
14. To provide telephone advice to patients andoccasional home visits where appropriate and within levels of competence.
15. Helping to maintain a positive, patient focussedculture.
16. Helping to maintain a positive, supportive cultureacross the whole of the practice team.

Our practice is approved to train fully qualifieddoctors who wish to specialise in general practice, we are also approved totrain medical students who spend up to six weeks with us seeing patients alongwith their mentor.
We are part of the Watling Street Network (PCN) andhave a community team including nurses, social prescribers and social workassistant supporting our patient populations.
