Overview

We’re looking for compassionate and caring Nursing Assistants with a passion to be a key part of the patient care journey here at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). You’ll communicate in a sensitive and compassionate manner with patients, relatives, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, working flexible over 4 days a week full time or 3 days a week part-time. Working hours 08:30 to 18:30 x 3 days and 08:30 to 18:00 x1 day or 08:30 to 18:00 x 3 days.

Your role will be to support registered nurses in order for the patient\'s needs to be holistically met. You will support the Clinicians and Nurse Specialist in Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy clinics, Oncology clinics, Benign clinics, Reproductive Medicine clinics and various Urogynaecology clinics. You will be required to have a keen interest in women\'s health.

You will be required to work across sites Oxford Road, St. Mary\'s Gynaecology Department & Withington Hospital Gynaecology Outpatient department.

Being supervised by Registered Nurses & within Trust guidelines & protocols, you’ll assist the Nursing team in delivering the excellent standard of patient care that you would expect for yourself and your loved ones.

Your duties will involve supporting patients with personal care needs, including mobilising, toileting, bathing, dressing, eating & drinking.

Following on the job training and assessment, you’ll learn how to undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties that include recording patient observations & changes to patient conditions.

* On joining MFT, if you are new to working in healthcare, you’ll be supported to develop your knowledge & skills through our Band 2 Development Programme for Nursing Assistants. Completion of the Band 2 Development Programme provides the opportunity to progress into a Band 3 Nursing Assistant role.
* If you’re an experienced Nursing Assistant, you’ll undertake a skills analysis on start to ensure you meet the skills required for your role. If gaps are identified, you’ll be supported to access relevant clinical skills modules to progress to a Band 3 post on completion.
* Evidence of prior learning will be reviewed and considered.
