Job Title: Head of Intelligence and Fraud Prevention
The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) is the national body responsible for all matters relating to the prevention, detection, and investigation of economic crime across the NHS. Further information about our work and annual plan is available on our website.
The post holder will be responsible for driving an intelligence-led approach within NHSCFA, facilitating research into fraud activity and risk within the NHS and the wider public health group. They will ensure that the design and format of intelligence information meet the needs of the organisation and its external stakeholders. Additionally, the post holder will support criminal investigations by providing operational analysis that meets the professional standards required by investigators, the Crown Prosecution Service, and Counsel.
This role is suitable for secondment and is a temporary contract from August 2025 to March 2026 (7 months).

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop an activity plan to advance the unit’s objectives in line with organisational strategies.
2. Make independent decisions within your area to ensure objectives are met.
3. Ensure projects are properly scoped and planned to minimise risks, with clear outputs and timelines.
4. Oversee the development of policies related to the management of the Intelligence unit and its data.
5. Establish long-term strategic plans, business models, and processes to enable effective delivery of strategic, tactical, and operational intelligence.
This position is based in London, offering flexible, hybrid working options, including office and home-based arrangements. Salaries will include a High-Cost Area Supplement where appropriate.
