Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 basic + £5,000 car allowance + OTE £100,000 plus
Permanent / Full-Time
We are working with a growing and highly specialised manufacturer and supplier of bespoke netting and load restraint solutions, supporting clients across construction, transport, logistics, infrastructure, and specialist vehicle sectors.
Due to continued growth and expansion into new sectors, they are looking to appoint a commercially driven Business Development Manager to support long-term business development across the UK.
This is a field-based role, requiring regular travel to client sites. Candidates must be within a commutable distance of the London office.
The Role
This is a true new business role focused on developing opportunities within technical, safety-critical environments. You will be responsible for identifying and opening doors, building your own pipeline, and securing profitable, margin-led deals.
The role is consultative in nature, involving site visits, technical discussions, and solution-based selling rather than transactional or volume-led sales.
Key Responsibilities
• Proactively identify and develop new B2B customers across construction, infrastructure, transport, facilities management, and logistics
• Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities from initial contact through to close
• Arrange and lead discovery calls, technical discussions, and site visits
• Work closely with internal teams to develop tailored specifications and quotations
• Close commercially sound, margin-focused deals
• Develop long-term relationships to drive repeat and retained business
• Support expansion into new sectors including institutional sports facilities and selected EU markets
The Ideal Candidate
• Proven experience in B2B business development within a technical, industrial, or product-led environment
• Comfortable generating your own leads and opening new business opportunities
• Experience selling into regulated or safety-critical sectors
• Commercially aware, with a strong focus on margin and profitability
• Confident communicator, able to engage with a range of stakeholders including contractors, engineers, and facilities teams
• Self-motivated, with the ability to manage your own pipeline and activity
• Based within a commutable distance of London and comfortable in a field-based role
Desirable
• Background in construction products, transport, safety equipment, industrial materials, or specialist vehicle conversions
• Experience working with contractors, engineers, or facilities managers
• Exposure to specification-led or consultative sales environments
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business offering a high-quality, technically driven product range, where success is measured on the quality and profitability of deals rather than volume. The role offers strong earning potential, autonomy, and the opportunity to play a key part in the company’s continued growth
