Job Summary
Salaried GP with a view to Partnership. 4‑6 clinical sessions per week, holding own list of patients pro‑rata to sessions, in a family‑friendly, supportive training practice in Old Amersham. 11,600 patients are cared for in a well‑established GP practice with two partners, three salaried GPs, two advanced nurse practitioners, and a multi‑skilled nursing team including a health‑care assistant and secretarial support.
Key Responsibilities
* Clinical sessions: up to 15 patients per morning (9:00–12:30) and 12 per afternoon (15:30–18:30), mix of telephone calls and face‑to‑face consultations.
* Conduct home visits as appropriate for patients under your care.
* Debrief GP trainees when requested in lieu of appointments.
* Provide on‑call GP support pro‑rata with other GPs, from 08:00–08:30 and 18:00–18:30 telephone advise only from out‑of‑hours.
* Manage own correspondence, laboratory requests, prescriptions, and administrative cover for days off.
* Assist with urgent list and online consultations.
* Sign prescriptions for absent GPs and assign home visits to trainees or arrange with fellow GPs.
* Advise nursing team / ANPs as required.
* Use EMIS Web, Docman, and Klinik Online Consultation Tool.
* Indemnity paid.
Hours of Work
Five clinical sessions, each 4 hours in length, totalling 20 hours per week. Sessions are scheduled from 9:00‑12:30 and 15:30‑18:30, with flexibility to adjust timings by mutual agreement. A pro‑rata arrangement applies to annual leave, protected time for professional development, and pensionable service. An unpaid lunch break of 30 minutes is included.
