Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Highways Maintenance Operative for our Highways DBFO. What you'll be doing As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will be supporting the Operative Team managing all the costs related to the DBFO contract. As a Highways Maintenance Operative [Level 1] you will be undertaking a 2-year work experience-based training programme in Highway Maintenance; You’ll be following a 70:20:10 method of training: 70% on the job training 20% mentoring / coaching 10% formal training & qualifications Over the period of 2 years, you’ll learn all the aspects of how to work safely whilst maintaining the M1, A1(M), M621 and M621 for the travelling public, providing a key service to the Leeds area. Compliance with all statutory and company procedures across all the functions, specifically H&S How to carry out a broad range of Highway maintenance activities - safety, efficiently and to a high standard Contribute to the overall profitability of the services providing through effective use of resources.
