Post CCT Clinical Fellow in Hand Surgery

The appointment of the post is to commence as soon as possible for a fixed term period of 12 months. FRCS (Ortho) / FRCS(Plastics) or equivalent is essential. The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK, sponsorship will be required. The duties of this post are most appropriate to an individual holding a Certificate of Completion of Training or in their final year of Higher Specialty Training at ST6+.
Job responsibilities: The successful candidate must be Registered with the GMC with a licence to practise by the date of application. Non-UK/EEA applicants should ensure they are aware of the recent changes to the Immigration rules.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of application
* Basic Medical Degree
* FRCS (Plast) or FRCS (Tr& Orth) or equivalent
* Diploma in Hand Surgery (British or European)
* Certificate of Completion of Training by start date.
Clinical experience
* Minimum of 6 months specialist hand surgery experience during pre CCT training
* Evidence of ability to carry out common trauma procedures
* ST6+ or equivalent
Research
* Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate
* Publications in Peer reviewed journals.
Teaching and training
* Experience of teaching medical students and junior doctors
Continuous Professional Development
* Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
* Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio
Personal attributes
* Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values
* The applicant must demonstrate skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking the English language that enables effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues as set out in the GMC' good medical practice (2013).
