Role overview
We are seeking a motivated Superstore Assistant Manager to support our trading team. You will act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, helping to maximize sales and fundraising, and engaging with the community.
Key responsibilities
1. Support the store manager in leading and developing a diverse team of staff and volunteers, including recruitment and retention.
2. Oversee the commercial operations of the store, including merchandising, stock management, and maintaining standards.
3. Work towards targets for donations, sales, gift aid, and stock turnover.
4. Assist with logistics related to donations and stock distribution across stores and online.
5. Provide excellent customer service and support community engagement initiatives.
6. Help organize fundraising events to meet income goals.
7. Act as deputy in the absence of the store manager.
8. Perform manual handling and physical activities as required.
Candidate profile
1. Experience in sales, profit targets, and commercial awareness.
2. Proven ability to manage and motivate a large, diverse team.
3. Ability to work towards targets and inspire others.
4. Skilled in multitasking in a busy retail environment.
5. Creative and proactive in seeking new opportunities.
6. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
7. Flexible and adaptable to rota-based work schedules.
