As an AM Grit-Blast Technician, you will play a key role in the post-processing of 3D-printed metal parts, ensuring that surfaces are cleaned, prepared, and finished to the highest standard. Your day will involve operating grit-blasting equipment, carrying out inspections, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality additive manufacturing solutions safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Operate grit-blasting equipment to clean, prepare, and finish surfaces of various materials.
* Select appropriate grit media and adjust equipment settings according to material type and specifications.
* Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure adherence to quality standards.
* Perform routine maintenance on grit-blasting equipment to keep processes running smoothly.
* Follow all health and safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
* Accurately document work and report issues or defects to supervisors.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications
* Experience with grit blasting or similar surface preparation techniques (preferred but not essential).
* Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* A team player with good communication skills.
* A safety-first mindset with knowledge of manufacturing safety procedures.
