Do you have an interest in working with clients in the rural sector? Are you a qualified solicitor with experience in property law (rural, residential or commercial)? Did you know that Rural Property Solicitrs also undertake a significant amount of commercial work on behalf of their clients? The sector encompasses not only traditional land uses and activities but wide-ranging commercial interests requiring commercially minded and innovative advisers!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Solicitor or Associate to join a leading legal team specialising in rural property and business. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile transactions and advisory work within a dynamic and evolving sector that is central to Scotland’s economy.
About the Role:
You will be part of a market-leading team advising on a wide range of rural property matters, including:
1. Purchase and sale of estates, farms, forestry, and other rural land
2. Rural development projects (residential, renewables, telecoms, quarrying)
3. Natural Capital markets (carbon codes, biodiversity)
4. Agricultural holdings (contentious and non-contentious)
5. Sporting interests and voluntary registration projects
6. Commercial agreements and land-use contracts
What We’re Looking For:
7. Qualified solicitor with experience in real estate or rural property
8. Genuine interest in rural sector work
9. Strong technical skills and attention to detail
10. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
11. Ability to manage transactions independently and meet deadlines
