We require a part time SENCo (0.6) that has the appropriate qualifications and/or experience to join our team at Earl Mortimer College. The ideal candidate must have previous experience as a qualified SENDCo/Inclusion Manager who has knowledge of EHCPs and managing a team of Learning Support Assistants.

We require someone who will:

•Develop and oversee the implementation of the school’s SEN strategy and policy

•Carry out assessments of students with SEN to identify needs and monitor progress – including observations in the classroom and meeting with teachers and parents

•Work with classroom teachers, the school leadership team, parents and relevant external agencies to develop, implement and monitor individual support/learning plans

•Provide regular updates on student progress through written reports and meetings with parents

•Make referrals and liaise with professionals outside of the school

•Provide advice, guidance and training to classroom teachers on supporting students with SEN including developing appropriate schemes of work, learning programmes and effective behaviour management approaches

•Manage and advise on the school budget and resources for SEN provision

•Develop and maintain systems for keeping student records, ensuring information is accurate and up to date

•Analyse school, local and national data and develop appropriate strategies and interventions

•Manage a team of Learning Support Assistants to improve student progress and attainment

•Keep up to date with national and local policies related to SEN and keep colleagues updated

•Work collaboratively with the Assistant SENCo and Base Manager to co-ordinate provision in our ASD Base

The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
