Reporting directly to an inspirational Managing Director and working closely with the wider group finance leadership team, this role will suit a commercially focused and hands-on finance professional looking for an opportunity to shape and lead the finance function within a dynamic, purpose-driven organisation. Working closely with the global CFO, the Head of Finance is a key strategic leader responsible not only for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations but also for acting as a trusted business partner to the Managing Director and leadership team. This role combines hands-on financial management with forward-looking strategic insight, enabling informed decision-making across the business. The role leads the finance function including financial reporting, budgeting, credit control, invoicing and payroll (internal and contractor) while providing actionable recommendations based on financial performance and market conditions. Responsibilities: • Act as a strategic advisor to the Managing Director and executive leadership team on financial matters. • Deliver clear, concise financial insights and strategic recommendations to support business growth, investment decisions, cost management, and long-term planning. • Challenge and influence decision-making across departments with evidence-based financial analysis. • Lead financial modelling for business initiatives, scenario planning, and investment appraisals. • Own the budgeting and forecasting processes across the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. • Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, board packs, and financial performance dashboards. • Deliver variance analysis with commentary and recommendations for corrective actions. • Monitor key financial and operational KPIs and proactively identify opportunities or risks. • Manage and develop a high-performing finance team • Oversee all finance operations including invoicing, credit control, accounts payable/ receivable, cash management. • Responsible for the processing of Company employee payroll and pension, contractor PAYE payroll along with owning the relationship with the outsource provider and supplier • Ensure timely billing and effective credit control processes to maintain healthy working capital. • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, accounting standards, and tax regulations. • Maintain robust financial controls, policies, and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting. • Lead external audit processes and manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial institutions. • Continuously evaluate and enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and processes for improved efficiency and insight. • Support digital transformation and automation initiatives within the finance function. Requirements: • ACCA, CA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent). • Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally with both operational and strategic exposure at an international level • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and act as a strategic business partner. • Proven record of success in developing and maintaining effective working relationships and partnerships with diverse stakeholders • Proven experience in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis. • Experience managing invoicing, credit control, and general financial administration. • Experience in managing payroll desirable Skills and Behaviours: • Strong commercial acumen with a strategic mindset. • Confident communicator with the ability to present complex financial data to non-finance audiences. • Proactive and solutions-focused with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire and develop a team. • High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
