Test Engineer
Hybrid – Newcastle/Leeds
We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer to join the team.
We’re looking for an experienced Test Engineer to drive quality, reliability, and performance across our digital products and technology solutions across Parkdean Resorts. You’ll deliver manual, exploratory, and automated testing while shaping test automation frameworks that boost speed, coverage, and consistency of quality across teams.
What you will be doing:
* Test Planning & Execution - Own end-to-end testing, turning requirements into clear test cases, spotting risks early, validating integrations, and driving fast and accurate resolution.
* Test Automation - Develop, maintain, and run automated test scripts using agreed tools (e.g. Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Postman/Newman), and integrate into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
* Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement - Champion QA best practices, improve processes and standards, and ensure high-quality delivery through risk assessments and Agile collaboration.
* Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - Partner with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure testable code, validate requirements, and maintain post-release quality.
About you
Some of the skills and experience we are looking for:
* Hands-on experience testing web, mobile, API, and integration layers, with strong practical knowledge of automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Postman/Newman, and BDD frameworks like SpecFlow, Cucumber or Gherkin.
* Proven experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and working with version control systems such as Git.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interrogate logs, APIs, and databases to support root-cause analysis.
* Solid understanding of test frameworks, defect management tools, and Agile delivery practices, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
* Clear communicator, proactive, and focused on continuous improvement, quality uplift, and delivering results in fast-paced Scrum or Kanban environments.
Whatever you do, please don’t filter yourself out! We are often flexible when considering an applicant’s skills and experience for a role. So, don’t be put off if you don’t tick all the boxes.
