Job purpose: As an AWS Technical Architect, you will be responsible for translating high-level solutions into detailed architectural designs, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the delivery process. Your role encompasses managing complex cloud solutions on the AWS platform. Responsibilities: Solution Design : Architecting cloud solutions on AWS according to business requirements, covering infrastructure design, application architecture, security, and integration patterns. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Utilizing AWS Cloud Formation, Terraform, or AWS CDK to define infrastructure as code, enabling automated provisioning and management of AWS resources. Cloud Migration : Assisting in migrating on-premises infrastructure and applications to AWS cloud with minimal disruption and optimal performance. Security and Compliance : Implementing security best practices and compliance standards within AWS environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security. Cost Optimization : Designing cost-effective solutions by selecting appropriate AWS services and implementing cost management strategies. High Availability and Disaster Recovery : Designing architectures for high availability and disaster recovery using AWS services. Performance Optimization : Tuning configurations and leveraging AWS services for optimal performance of applications and infrastructure. Monitoring and Logging : Implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail to ensure the health, performance, and security of AWS environments. Automation and DevOps : Promoting DevOps practices by automating infrastructure deployment and software delivery pipelines using AWS DevOps tools. Technical Leadership and Collaboration : Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members, collaborating with cross-functional teams. Continuous Learning and Innovation : Staying updated with the latest AWS services and best practices, driving innovation for improved efficiency and reliability of AWS solutions Requirements: Several years of experience as an AWS Technical Architect, in public cloud environments with hands on background. Experience in collaborating with DevOps Engineers and stakeholders to lead and deliver projects. Proficiency in deploying Landing Zone, particularly Secure Landing Zone/PALZ. Practical experience in CI/CD on AWS, utilizing tools like Jenkins. Expertise in managing and maintaining secure AWS cloud environments and various AWS security services. Experience with authentication and authorization protocols such as Keycloak/Redhat SSO, OAUTH2, SAML, and OIDC. Proficiency in designing and implementing cloud-native solutions, including landing zones, containers, CI/CD pipelines, network, IAM, and programmable infrastructure. Knowledge and experience in infrastructure as code solutions using tools like Terraform, Jenkins, Python, or PowerShell. Proficiency in containerization using EKS, ECS, and ECR, along with understanding of release management techniques. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Understanding of AWS account structures, including Master Payer Account, linked accounts, and AWS Organizations. Expertise in AWS services related to security, networking, and monitoring. Experience with network concepts such as VPC peering, gateways, Route 53, IPAM, CIDR management, and hybrid networks. Proficiency in tools like Git/GitHub, Confluence, Jira, and ServiceNow. Understanding of additional AWS services like WorkSpaces, AWS Managed AD, and Palo Alto. Knowledge of AWS managed database services and collaboration in building, testing, and deploying global infrastructure. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with peers to solve complex technical issues. Ability to work in an Agile environment, drive continuous improvement, and maintain attention to detail. Certification and Clearance: Hold any two AWS Associate Certifications or one AWS Professional/Specialty Certification. Must possess security clearance for employment in the public sector or have UK settlement status (ILR) to be eligible for security clearance.
