Overview
We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Children and Young People’s (ChYPS) Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service — a specialist, Sussex-wide team supporting young people (10–18 years) and their families affected by eating disorders. This is a pivotal role in a service recognised for its evidence-based, NICE-concordant model, where multidisciplinary collaboration sits at the heart of care. You’ll work alongside systemic family therapists, child psychotherapists, nurses and psychologists to help young people recover, rebuild and thrive.
The post attracts an enhanced Recruitment and Retention Payment of £45,000 (£15,000 on appointment, then £10,000 at 12, 24 and 36 months) and relocation expenses up to £8,000 (subject to policy).

We’re looking for a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist with enthusiasm for specialist eating disorder work and a strong commitment to family-centred care. You’ll bring clinical expertise, compassion and leadership — with a collaborative approach to complex casework and service development.
What you’ll do
Based at Aldrington House in Hove, you’ll provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment within an experienced, well-structured MDT. You’ll contribute to care planning, risk management and family interventions, supporting holistic treatment in line with national standards. You’ll work closely with other CAMHS consultants and specialty doctors across Sussex, taking part in peer supervision, clinical governance and service improvement.
