Description:
We are seeking a professional and security conscious Receptionist to support our defence unit’s reception area. This role is critical to maintaining site security, supporting emergency procedures and delivering a welcoming yet controlled front‑of‑house service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Receive, book in and manage visitors in line with strict security procedures
2. Issue ID passes, notify hosts and maintain accurate visitor records
3. Act as a communication hub, managing incoming calls, enquiries and tannoy announcements
4. Maintain reception and associated rooms, reporting defects to Facilities
5. Support the security team and respond effectively to emergency situations (e.g. evacuations)
6. Manage incoming and outgoing post, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
7. Report incidents or emergencies to the Security Manager
About You
8. Minimum 2–3 years experience in a receptionist, front‑of‑house or security focused environment
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
10. Calm, composed and professional under pressure
11. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
12. Confident using Microsoft Office and visitor management systems
13. Discreet, reliable and a strong team player
The role is working onsite Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week with a 12.15pm finish on a Friday!
