Our client, a leader in the construction sector, is currently seeking a highly capable Project Engineer - Structures to support the Project Manager in delivering various projects at Stansted Airport. This is a contract role with an initial 6-month duration, operating within IR35 regulations. The role requires a robust structural engineering background, particularly with steel frame buildings, bridges, and heavy lifting operations. Key Responsibilities: Act as the Project Manager's representative on site, providing daily oversight and technical input. Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and programme schedules. Identify and report defects and non-conformances; track and manage close-out actions. Review and accept contractor permit submissions. Coordinate with Construction Managers and assist in resolving site blockers. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure operational alignment. Validate contractor-reported progress and highlight discrepancies. Provide technical expertise on construction methodologies and techniques. Review RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, CEMP, and other contractor documentation. Advise on potential Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs), and support validation of contractor claims. Requirements: Proven experience in structural works, especially steel frame construction and bridge engineering. Familiarity with heavy lifting operations and associated safety protocols. Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills. Ability to work on-site at Stansted Airport up to three days per week.
