Role and Responsibilities The Behavioural Support Assistant will play a key role in supporting students with behavioural and emotional needs. Responsibilities include: Implementing trauma-informed practices to foster a safe and supportive learning space. Delivering one-to-one and group support to help students manage behaviour and emotions effectively. Building positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to develop and implement effective support plans. Applying positive behaviour management strategies to help students overcome day-to-day challenges. Motivating and guiding students towards both academic and personal goals. Monitoring and recording progress, making adjustments to support plans when required. Requirements The successful candidate will demonstrate: Experience and knowledge of trauma-informed practice and behavioural support. A strong commitment to supporting children who have struggled in mainstream education. High levels of empathy, resilience, and patience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
