After School Playworker
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable After School Playworker to join our team and help provide high‑quality wraparound care for our pupils. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and can create a positive, engaging environment at the end of the school day.
About the Role
The successful candidate will support the delivery of creative, stimulating, and age‑appropriate play opportunities in a safe and nurturing setting. You will help children feel welcomed, supervised, and encouraged as they relax, play, and socialise after school.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a warm, supportive, and inclusive environment for all children
Plan and lead engaging play activities that promote creativity, cooperation, and confidence
Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and wellbeing
Encourage positive behaviour and model respectful interactions
Support children’s social and emotional development
Set up and tidy away resources, maintaining a clean and organised space
Follow safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times
About You
Friendly, patient, and child‑centred
Confident supervising groups of children
Able to communicate clearly with pupils, colleagues, and parents
Reliable, organised, and proactive
Experience working with children (school, childcare, youth work, or similar) is desirable but not essential
Hours & Pay
Part‑time, term‑time only
Typical hours: after school, Monday–Friday
Competitive hourly rate
