Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Mobility Equipment Engineer to install, service, maintain and repair a wide range of mobility and access equipment. This role involves working both in customers’ homes and on-site, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and compliant with all relevant regulations.


Key Responsibilities

* Install, service, maintain and repair mobility equipment including hoists, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, rise & recline chairs and access equipment
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently and safely
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and safety inspections
* Complete accurate job reports, service records and compliance documentation
* Provide excellent customer service, explaining repairs and equipment use clearly
* Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer guidelines and health & safety standards
* Manage van stock, tools and spare parts effectively
* Liaise with customers, colleagues and suppliers as required


Skills & Experience

* Previous experience as a Mobility Equipment Engineer, Service Engineer, or similar field-based engineering role preferred, but training can be provided to the ideal candidate
* Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault‑finding skills
* Experience working with mobility aids, lifting equipment or medical devices (desirable)
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
* Basic IT skills for completing reports and job updates


Qualifications (Desirable)

* NVQ / SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or similar
* LOLER inspection experience or certification
* Health & Safety training
* Full UK driving licence (essential) age 30+ for insurance purposes
