This role plays a key part in supporting learners’ academic progress and wellbeing through targeted interventions and regular engagement, helping to identify and remove barriers to learning. Combining strong administrative skills with a student‑focused approach, the post holder will work closely with colleagues to promote engagement, improve outcomes and support student success across the provision. What You’ll Be Doing As an Academic & Pastoral support Officer, you will: Provide accurate and timely administrative support across the Department. Maintain learner records, enrolment, transfers, withdrawals, and completions. Manage departmental databases, filing systems, and electronic records. Act as the first point of contact for attendance and punctuality issues. Implement strategies to improve attendance and punctuality. Contact students and parents/carers following absences and maintain systematic records Deliver targeted interventions (1:1 coaching, small group sessions) for learners with additional needs or wellbeing challenges. Collaborate with teaching staff and ALS Department to identify and support students at risk. What We’re Looking For We seek candidates who: Minimum Level 3 qualification in Business Administration or relevant subject and Qualifications in Microsoft Office. An appropriate Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in supporting students with learning difficulties/care, or a commitment to achieving this within an agreed timescale. Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent). Desirable: Risk Assessment and First Aid qualifications. Commitment to ongoing CPD and mandatory training. What’s in it for you?
