Senior Electrical Engineer – Water Projects (Permanent) – Yorkshire, UK A respected and fast-growing design-and-build specialist, delivering award-winning infrastructure across the UK water sector, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its long-term framework team supporting Yorkshire Water. This organisation combines deep design expertise with proven contracting delivery, operating on regulated frameworks with a project portfolio exceeding £500 million in annual turnover. Due to continued growth and project demand, they are now hiring a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical systems on major water and wastewater treatment schemes. This is a full-time permanent role, based in Yorkshire, with hybrid working and regular travel to site. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and review electrical engineering designs for water treatment plants, including LV distribution, MCCs, cabling, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA and industrial networks * Produce and assess technical specifications for procurement and review supplier submissions * Ensure compliance with client standards (including WIMES) and UK water industry regulations * Oversee electrical engineering across the full project lifecycle—from concept to commissioning * Mentor graduate and junior engineers within the electrical discipline * Liaise with clients and delivery teams to ensure design quality, constructability, and performance * Contribute to continuous improvement of in-house design standards and processes Candidate Requirements: * Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) * Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or working towards) with a relevant institution (e.g., IET, ICE) * Proven track record delivering electrical engineering design within the UK water sector * Strong technical understanding of water/wastewater systems, plant interfaces, and control systems * Methodical problem-solver with excellent communication skills * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across Yorkshire Role Details: * £65,000–£75,000 salary (depending on experience) * Full-time permanent role with hybrid working * Yorkshire-based, with regular travel to project sites * Industry-leading benefits including matched pension (up to 7%), private healthcare, enhanced parental leave, professional fees paid, flexible holidays, and more
