Trainee Teaching Assistant – SEN School (Personal Care Required) ABC Teachers are recruiting for a Trainee Teaching Assistant to work full-time in specialist SEN schools. This role is ideal for people with experience in care, support work, healthcare, mental health or social care who want to move into education. As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will support students with Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). ⚠️ Important: Many students require personal care and physical support, so applicants must have previous personal care experience and be comfortable providing this support in a school setting. This Trainee Teaching Assistant role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm. The Role As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will: • Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups • Assist students with ASC, SLD and PMLD needs • Provide personal care support, including toileting and hygiene • Help students manage behaviour and regulate emotions • Support teachers in delivering adapted lessons and activities • Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment This is a hands-on role where patience, empathy and resilience are essential.
